Artist: Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Herly Terant moved to Florida in 1980, where she studied Fine Arts at Miami-Dade College. Herly developed an interest in the visual arts from an early age. As a six-year-old, she had her first collective art show at a major fine arts museum. She was also given the task of painting murals and posters for her elementary school. As a young adult, Herly trained under a master artist. During that time she acquired a preference for using the palette knife instead of the brush. She later majored in fine arts at Miami-Dade College, where she worked with many media including sculpture and printmaking. In addition to being a commissioned portraitist, Herly also worked in the fields of art conservation and restoration, as well as a graphic designer for 23 years. Herly currently resides in McDonough, Georgia.
